Meet Yana, RDH.

My professional journey began in Uzbekistan, where I earned a master’s degree in education. After moving to the United States, I began a new chapter in dentistry as an extended-function dental assistant while raising my family and continuing my education. I went on to graduate from a dental hygiene program in San Jose and have been practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) since 2008. I later earned my Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice (RDHAP) license through the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

I also provided mobile dental hygiene services to residents of nursing homes, serving as a Clinical Director for several years. This experience deepened my appreciation for compassionate, individualized care and the important role oral health plays in overall well-being.

Oakridge Dental has been my professional home throughout my career, and I feel fortunate to work alongside such dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to excellence and patient-centered care. What I love most about dental hygiene is building connections with patients, helping them understand the relationship between oral health and overall wellness, and creating personalized care experiences that make a lasting difference.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is watching my patients grow through the years—from young children to college students—and becoming a trusted part of their families’ healthcare journeys. These lasting relationships are what make my profession so meaningful to me.

For me, dental hygiene is about much more than healthy teeth and gums. It is about caring for each person with compassion, earning their trust, and helping them feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their health.
